Bids Farewell
In November 2005, with very little knowledge about loose leaf tea and limited retail experience, we started Lee-Middleton Gourmet tea with 6 pounds of flavoured loose leaf tea from a small supplier and only family and friends as customers. We grew that little business into an online business with over 400 customers and at one point, close to 100 different tea blends. Kerri Lee, the owner of Lee-Middleton Gourmet Tea, is entering a new phase in her professional life and is no longer able to keep up with the demands of running the tea business. We would not want our customer service to suffer, so almost 6 years after starting this journey, we are announcing that we will be closing up shop.
Although we are going to miss our many loyal and long term customers, we feel that we are at least leaving you in a time where it is becoming much easier to source good quality loose leaf tea. It is a very exciting time indeed in the world of tea. We hope that you will continue to buy loose leaf tea and try new teas to expand your tea palate. If you are interested in learning more about tea, we highly recommend the Tea Sommelier Certificate Program at George Brown College in Toronto. Also, Kerri will remain an active member of the Tea Guild of Canada and if you are a lover of tea we would love to have you join. You can find out more about the Tea Guild of Canada on their website.
We would like to thank all of our customers from the ones who have been with us from the beginning to the newest customers who have just started ordering tea from us. We could not have done this without you and it has been a pleasure to be on this journey of tea together with all of you!
